No Visitors Allowed
after a litter of puppies are born
Here at East Ridge, we make it our top priority to ensure that our Siberian Huskies and our puppies are healthy and remain healthy. Due to the risk of exposure to the Parvovirus and Leptospirosis, both highly contagious viral disease that can produce a life-threatening illness, and per the advice from our veterinarian, we will not allow visitors til our puppies have been vaccinated at 8 weeks old. This is a precaution we are taking to ensure that our puppies are safe and healthy before going home to their new families. Our puppies get plenty of socializing with our children and other family pets. We also take plenty of pictures and videos on Facebook of the puppies together and individually to allow you to get to know our puppies without risking their safety and health. These are viruses that a visitor could easily track into our home without knowing, just from walking down the sidewalk. A virus that if our puppies are infected with, will only have a 20% chance of surviving, IF we were lucky enough to have caught it in time. This is not a risk, we are willing to take.
I have had a lot of requests to come see our puppies and/or the parents, whether just to get their "puppy fix" or families interested in buying one of our puppies who want to see the litter and pick out their puppy by looks and personality. As much as I understand both reasons, I ask you to respect and understand we will not be allowing this until our puppies have received their first series of vaccines at 8 weeks old. I don't want to have to tell one of our families that their puppy died because we allowed a visitor and they tracked the Parvo Virus into our home, killing their puppy. Even tho puppies can still contract the Parvo Virus after they received their first series of vaccines, they at least then have a better fighting chance.
When you CAN meet our pack...
However, if you have completed our Puppy Application and are an Approved Family on our waiting list for our next litter to be born, with a few additional requirements, we would gladly invite you visit our home to meet our huskies up to two weeks before the next litter is born. If this is something you would like to do, please let me know when I call you after I have reviewed your submitted application.

Socially Ready
Here at East Ridge Siberian Huskies, we believe it is important that our puppies stay with their mother as long as possible, keeping our puppies together with their siblings and parents until they are 10 weeks old. Their mother will teach them manners we can't, correct their bad behaviors and teach them to respect other dogs/their siblings. Also, their social development happens in play with their siblings during those last 2-3 weeks they are with us. And by staying with their parents and siblings longer, our puppies will be less likely to develop aggression, develop separation anxiety and have less behavioral issues. Just because they are eating on their own, doesn't mean they are ready to leave their mother just yet.
Eye and Coat Colors
Here at East Ridge Siberian Huskies, we do not and can not guarantee our puppies eye or coat colors. We can not guarantee that your puppies eyes will remain blue, or if they will keep their mask, because these things can change as they grow into adult Siberian Huskies. We can give our opinion what their colors may be, but we can not guarantee it. The color our puppies eyes and coats are is not our focus here at East Ridge Siberian Huskies, but breeding and raising strong, healthy, sound puppies that have already begun their training before they leave us is.
